On September 21, 1991 Armenia held its referendum on independence. As a result, more than 99 percent of these voters said “Yes” to have an independent, free, and self-governing state. The Republic of Armenia was accepted as a full member of the international community as a sovereign state and joined the United Nations in 1992.
Սեպտեմբեր 21, 2016-ին Հայաստանի Հանրապետութեան Անկախութեան 25-րդ տարելիցն է:
1991թ. Սեպտեմբեր 21-ին Հայաստանի մէջ տեղի ունեցած անկախութեան հանրաքուէի հետեւանքով Հայաստանի Խորհրդային Սոցիալիստական Հանրապետութիւնը հռչակեց իր անկախութիւնը ԽՍՀՄ-ից: 1992 թ. Հայաստանի Հանրապետութիւնը որպէս ինքնիշխան պետութիւն դարձաւ ՄԱԿ-ի լիիրավ անդամ:
