On Sunday, September 7, 2014, during the Divine Liturgy celebrated by Parish Priest, Rev. Archpriest Fr. Zareh Zargarian, one of the long-standing members and devoted servants of the Armenian Holy Apostolic Church, Deacon Berc Luleciyan was awarded a Pontifical Encyclical of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, as well as The High Order of Merit of “St. Nerses Shnorhali for his devoted services to Motherland Armenia and Artsakh through Hayastan All Armenia Fund and to his church. Dn. Luleciyan was approached by the faithful who congratulated him on the recognition he received from the Holy See of Etchmiadzin.
The Primate of the Armenian Church Canadian Diocese, Very Rev. Fr. Apgar Hovakimian, delivered the sermon, emphasizing the importance of the church in the lives of the faithful, comparing the church to Noah’s Ark, that has been the way to redemption. On the occasion of Grandparents’ Day, Very Rev. Fr. Hovakimian blessed all grandparents present at the church and each of them received a candle to light.
The Pastor and the Parish Council of Holy Trinity Armenian Church welcomed distinguished guests, H.E. Mr. Armen Yeganian, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Canada; Rev. Dr. Karen Hamilton, Canadian Council of Churches General Secretary; Mr. Hagop Janbazian, Chairman of the Interdenominational Committee of Toronto; Mr. Harout Manougian, TDSB Trustee, Mr. Khoren Mardoyan, Advisor in Canada to the Minister of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia; and Mr.Aris Baikian, Citizenship Judge. Also present at the ceremony were members of the Hayastan Foundation Toronto committee.
Following the Divine Liturgy, a casual meeting was held over a light reception at the Holy Trinity Armenian Church boardroom, where the guests connected in a friendly atmosphere. The Pastor and Parish Council conveyed their best wishes to Deacon Berc Luleciyan and vowed to continue praying for the well being of the faithful parishioners like him who are devoted to the Armenian cause and the Christian faith.
