ABOUT BAREV CENTRE
The Canadian Armenian Community Services Centre, which is also known as Barev Centre is a non-profit organization, founded by Rev. Archpriest Fr. Zareh Zargarian, the Parish Priest of Holy Trinity Armenian Church. Mrs. Armine Boyadjian is the Chair of Barev Centre. The organization sees to serve the educational, cultural and social needs of the vibrant Canadian-Armenian community.
It is the over-arching organization that brings together sub-organizations and groups that all share the same mission, vision, and values as Barev Centre. They include: St. Sahag and St. Mesrob Armenian Saturday School, Sassoun Dance Ensemble, Barev Youth, Lousapem Theatre Group, Barev Open Golf Committee, Walk-a-thon, and many more.
The Centre’s missions are to:
Serve Canadian Armenians to connect with their roots and strengthen their sense of identity through cultural, educational and social programming.
Foster an environment that connects Canadian Armenians to each other, their communities as well as public and private sectors partners.
Enrich the experience of communities by creating opportunities for cultural learning and growth.
Inspire a movement to reinforce the cultural identity and impact of Canadian Armenians.
Create synergies with people and organizations across Canada and Armenia to leverage successful strategies and build stronger community ties.
Barev’s Social Committee’s Chair is Mr. Harout Abajian and his amazing team of volunteers who have been organizing social and cultural events.
